A day long workshop for intermediate level to advanced dancers, working on interesting dances and formations and developing technique. The workshop will also cover Dance/Formation devising and working with musicians.
We’re planning a special, all-day workshop on 4 October 2025 and we would like you to attend. You can book through Trybooking.com The venue is Erskineville Town Hall, in inner-city Sydney. Matthew Robertson (fiddle) and David South (accordion) will be providing the music and Steven McAleer will be teaching the group.
The day will be a series of sessions for a single class group. You’ll be treated to step practice (of course) but also some interesting dances and some time spent on dance devising and working with musicians.
We will feed you during the lunch and tea breaks, so don’t forget to tell us about any allergies, intolerances or hatred of particular foods.
If you are travelling from interstate there’s a pub next door and they can organise subsidised accommodation – preferably twin-share, unless you snore. If you are flying, they can organise a Meet + greet at the airport (complete with bagpipes, balloons and banner - just kidding!).
The fee for the day is $50. Thanks goes to the RSCDS International Branch for their support through the Susi Mayr Fund to make this possible.
If you know any other young dancer who might want to attend the workshop pitched to an intermediate to advanced level of dancing, please ask them to email us at info@sotr.org.au or simply sign up.
Group Secretaries, if you have information regarding your events that you would like advertised on the Branch website, please contact the web administrator, Leanne Smith, at leanneksmith59@hotmail.com
