Would you like to dance jigs, reels and strathspeys to irresistible music? Scottish Country Dancing (SCD) is the ballroom or social dancing of Scotland. You don’t need to be a Scot to enjoy this lively, social type of dancing that has been popular in Scotland for centuries, and is now practised throughout the world by people of all races and nationalities.
Classes at Waverley Scottish Society begin again on February 23. Beginners and newer dancers start at 7:30pm to learn the basics and gradually transition to our regular class which starts at 8pm.
Mitcham are holding a 4 week introductory course starting March 5th for those new to Scottish Country Dancing.
Ringwood Caledonian Society are holding a free Come and Try Night on April 1st followed by Beginners' Classes starting the following week.
Kilsyth Scottish Country Dance Group are holding a 4 week Beginners' Course beginning April 20.
